What To Advertise?

When it comes to deciding what to advertise on credit-based traffic sites, the choice is actually pretty simple.

First of all – Subject Matter:

The people frequenting credit-based traffic sites mostly focus on a very narrow set of subjects

  • Other credit-based traffic sites
  • How to be successful using credit-based traffic
  • Building downlines in credit-based traffic sites
  • Good, solid business opportunities

Hat Tipping

There’s a couple of immediate reasons this blog has come into existance.

First – the less immediate – I’ve for some time had the idea of setting up a blog to cover the whole credit-based traffic scene/meme. Well, suffice to say, I never got around to it – my mind kept circling around “what to call the wretched thing”.

Second – and more immediate – I decided to try out John Thornhill’s One Month Mentoring program. I’ve heard loads of very, very good things about John’s different coaching- and training programs – and seeing as this was the absolute last chance for trying out this one (which I know for certain has led to a few very nice success stories among online friends of mine), I jumped the gun.

Part of John’s program (actually, the very first part) is setting up a blog, John recommends doing that on a domain containing your own name – and presto: my name is what I’m branding on credit-based traffic sites anyway :-)

So, that’s how this blog was conceived – as with all other children, what it’ll turn out to be a few years down the line, will depend on the love and care poured into it. So here’s to a fruitful childhood.

Supercharge Your Links

Ok, One thing we all need is a way to take those unweildy affiliate links and turn them into something both prettier and more useful.

No matter what affiliate program – affiliate links are ugly, they’re creating levels of distrust, they brand someone else, not you, and they make it far too easy on those elements who want to deprive you of your commissions.

So, some kind of link cloaking service is pretty much a must – problem is, either you use a generic service like bit.ly. That’s almost as ugly as the affiliate links themselves. Or you use your own cloaker on your own domains, creating links like http//yourdomain.com/recommends/thenextbigthing.

It Started With A Poll

To get things off in a good fashion, I’ve put together a quick poll, to see how the people visiting here sees the credit-based traffic site landscape.

Quite simply, mark off which site type you have had most success with, and click the Vote button.

This will of course give me a better understanding about the good folks who come visiting, and enable me to better target future content.

So, thanks for participating – you can vote either in this post, or in the poll-widget in the side-bar.

A Welcome and A LifeSaver

Hello Everyone and most welcome to this blog.

I’m hoping to be able to provide you with loads of cool content about marketing in general and achieving success with credit-based traffic sites in particular.

So, first things first – let’s get one thing straight: What is credit-based traffic?

Well, you see, credit-based traffic is my way of bundling together a lot of diverse, yet similar traffic-type sites – like Traffic Exchanges, Safelists, Mailers, Ad Exchanges, Banner Exchanges and many more like them.

What links them all together is the fact they’re all driven by credits. In order to post your ads on these sites, you’ll need credits. And you get credits in one of two ways – either you buy them, or you earn them by viewing other people’s ads.

It’s really rather quite simple – and this simplicity often becomes the bane of people coming to these sites – because if you don’t know the ins and outs of using these sites and maximizing your results, you’re not going to be very succesful – and obviously, you’re then just going to quit again. Well, we can’t have that, right – so check back here often, as I’ll be providing you with hints, tips, and tricks as well as other helpful suggestions to help you become succesful with these sites too.

For now, though, I’ll simply point you in the direction of a great online service that really makes life a lot easier. In fact, this site is the direct reason I’m able to use 180+ safelists and mailers and still see my family every day and lead a normal life besides. Read the rest of this entry »
